More questions and answers about our Rental
Scheme!
1. How long can I hire for?
You may hire for as long as you like. There is, however, a
three month minimum period.
2. What do I pay for initially?
1 month rental in advance, plus returnable deposit (usually 2
months' rental) and possibly a delivery
charge (for pianos / keyboards / drum kits).
3. How are further payments made?
Apart from the initial payment, payments are made monthly by
Standing Order from your bank. We will need your cheque book
for your full bank details.
4. Can I, at some stage, buy my my hire
instrument?
Yes, you can at any time. We will allow a discount
equivalent to up to the first three months rental payments that
have been paid (six months for acoustic pianos), as well as your
deposit and delivery charge - as long as you payments are up to
date and the Terms and Conditions of the agreement have been
adhered to. The price will be the retail price stated on the
hire agreement form.
5. What if I want to buy a different instrument
to the one I'm hiring?
You may do so, but it must have the same retail price or more
for us to apply the above discount. The price will be the
retail price shown or quoted by an authorised member of staff.
6. Can I change the agreement to a hire
purchase agreement?
No. You have signed a hire agreement. If you wish to
purchase please refer to (4.) above.
7. What about insurance?
The hirer is responsible for the instrument whilst in their
care. You may add it to your home insurance or we can
recommend a specialist insurer.
8. Who is responsible for maintaining the
instrument?
The hirer is. You are responsible for the day-to-day
maintenance costs such as replacing broken strings, broken reeds,
piano tuning etc., but not servicing due to normal wear and tear.
9. How do I end the agreement?
Give us 14 days written notice (pianos) or just return the
instrument, complete with any accessories, at any time during shop
hours. Our staff will check it and, if your payments are up
to date, refund your deposit. Hire payments are monthly in
advance. No refund will be made if an instrument is returned
early in the rental month.
10. Who stops the monthly Standing Order
payments?
You do, as we are unable to. You must instruct your bank
to stop the monthly payments to ABC Music Ltd.
11. I am an adult and wish to hire an
instrument for my own use; are there any special conditions that
may apply?
Our hire scheme is directed at parents whose children are
learning to play. Adult users may be asked to provide a
larger deposit, particularly if living in rented accommodation.
12. What do I need to bring to the store?
Cheque book, valid credit card(s) and mortgage / utilities statement.
